Welcome to Buddhist Thoughts, a site designed to introduce you to some key principles of Buddhism. It will help anyone interested in knowing more about spirituality generally or Buddhism specifically, or if you would like some pointers to help make your life more calm and peaceful.

I’ve always been interested in psychology and self-development and as part of this journey I encountered Buddhism and then general spirituality. I find that writing about something helps me develop understanding, hence why this site was created. Although the original purpose was to develop and deepen my understanding, it can also provide benefit to other people so I want to share it.

An introduction to key Buddhist principles can be found in What is Buddhism? and the subsequent pages. You can either browse the pages including a selection of Articles on various Buddhist-related topics, or alternatively you can download a pdf or Kindle copy explaining the basic principles of Buddhism.

There is also a Resources section if you want to know more about Buddhism or other spiritual principles. My journey has taken me into all sorts of areas and I’ve often wondered where to go next and how to find out more. If you’ve ever felt the same way, this part will provide a guide to many of the books and resources that have helped me and they may be able to help you too.

There is a sister site  http://www.finding-peace.co.uk/ from which you can purchase the book Finding Peace and also find general spiritual and psychological resources. Finding Peace is based on my own experiences and realisations and is available to purchase as a paperback or download in Kindle format. If you’ve ever wondered whether there is more to life or have started on a spiritual, psychological or healing journey, you’ll recognise the themes in Finding Peace. I’m a traveller alongside you and it’s good to have a companion for the journey. Finding Peace is not a religious or Buddhist book though, it is my personal story but one which you may be able to benefit from.

The only advertising on the site is from carefully chosen suppliers who I feel can support us on our journey. The links to books and other materials to purchase are via Amazon and I receive a commission payment from any purchases made via the links as an affiliate. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. I also provide the ability to purchase directly from the publishers, who are normally Buddhist or spiritual organisations or supporters, should you prefer this route.

I hope you get something useful from this site. If the journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, perhaps this can be that step
